Lyfta - Logo usage
(September 2024)
In this short side-project, I will demonstrate the process and right use of logos.
Lyfta is an “all-in-one” fitness app created by Kolbjørn Lindberg and Kjell Roar Lindberg.
The app allows the target user to explore exercises, and personalized exercise routines with tutorials, and join a fitness community with their social media platform.

Original Logo
Although logos might be small and simple, they can make a huge impact on how the App present themselves to attracts users. A small detail can describe and influence what the app is really about.
The original logo is simply the name of the app, with a black background that matches the apps dark-mode style:
(Original logo)
As the company wanted a more describing logo of their app, they drew and made a new logo using Figma. The new colour of choice where blue, a color that represents health and a sign of stability and reliability.
Try, fail, and try again…
The blue logo did not sit right with me as it didn’t match with the apps dark-theme style, which started a process of several tries of different types of logos:
(Second Logo)
I put all the potential logos next to each-other to compare which one makes the most sense. The “muscle-man” to the right was made by the company, in which I strongly adviced NOT to use, because it limits the target users to “males-only”.
Final Logo
Sometimes, less is more. The final logo is a sweet mix of the company’s first logo (black background), and the second version (blue). It matches with the company’s name Lyfta that stems from the word Lift, and fits well with their dark-mode style.
For an even more holistic view, I included the Logo while editing the fitness goals-page:
